Robots have also been a great advance in the technology. They help humans to build, create, investigate... When they were first created people didn't like them but they've improved lots of jobs and help us in our everyday life, like the microwaves, fridges...

Differences between robot and artificial intelligence

Most people think that artificial intelligence and robots are the same, but they're very different terms.

A robot is a mechanical object that has been programmed to make one or more simple tasks with more precision than a human. In the other hand artificial intelligence are also robots, but they can react to situations different that the one they're normally are. They can learn, reason, solve problems...

Most people think in movies like Transformers, Termainator or even Star wars when we mention robots to them but robots aren't normally as complex as those.

Ever since man saw the possibility of using machines instead of people, the research of creating 

electronic objects began. In 1937 the creation of the first humanoid robot was considered.

ELEKTRO, this is the nickname of the first robot in history.

How to build and programme a robot

A robot is any thing with any electronical components for example:

• to turn on/off a led
• to move
• to make soud...

There are two ways of building: 

1. The one of using recycled material like cardboard, plastic, metal...But don't forget to use electronical components.
2. Using a 3D programme, I recomend you to use Free Cad because there you can print in 3D and there are a lot of possibilities. But there are more also very interestings. The bad thing of this is that it last a lot of hours.

1. The first one is scratch because you programme with very simple blocks and funny characters.
2. The second can be Lego Wedo, you build lego but it include motors and the brain that is where the information is processed.
3. Mindstorm EV3 or NXT also is with lego but more complex because it contains sensors and motors
4. The last one is Arduino that is wih many electronical components and the programme is with code.

When was the term "Robot" used for first time

The first time the word robot was used was in 1920, when in R.U.R, a theatre play was created. The wor robot comes from robota which means slave, forced labor... The word that Josef Čapek, the creator of the play labels machines that help or serve the humans.

The three laws of robotics

The three laws of robotics are a set of rules developed by the science fiction writer Isaac Asimov

1. A robot will not damage a human being or, through inaction, will allow a human being to suffer damage.
2. A robot must comply with the orders given by human beings, with the exception of those that enter into conflict with the first law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence to the extent that this protection does not conflict with the first or the second law.
